During my training for the Ironman I spend many hours in the sun and lose a lot of salts. These salts are essential for the proper functioning of the body. If we compare the functioning of our body to a car, the salts would be the electric part and without that we could not start the engine. So when we have a defict of salts, we can suffer from cramps.
