Eduardo Martin Sturla, from Argentina is triathlete for 18 years. He is the only professional triathlete who lives and trains in the country.

In 2001 he became also the first South American athlete to win an Ironman, competition, consisting of 3.8km swim, 180km cycling and 42km running. This important victory was held in Florianopolis, Brazil, the only official Ironman that takes place in South America.

Not satisfied with that achievement, Sturla has repeated the victory on two other occasions, the powers in 2008 and 2009, also in Florianópolis, where he also holds the race course record with 08h:11m:10s, and bike course record 04h:23m. That makes it undoubtedly a major reference in this sport, and is clearly the rival to win the 2010 edition.

But not everything is in Brazil. With hard work and dedication in October 2008, qualified for the Ironman World Championship, which is held annually in Kona, Hawaii, Sturla successfully placed the top 10 of the world. For the first time an Argentine enters the Top 10 in this demanding discipline. He was also 2 x 13th place in the World Champs (2001, 2007).

These results make it undoubtedly the elite of international sport.

Now, the goal is again the World Championship in Hawaii in October 2010. Eduardo Martin Sturla wants to make the best performance of his career in this, the ultimate goal of the year.
